ISO-NE ensures that desired and/or reliable VAR conditions are maintained on the bulk electric power system. These established criteria, operating practices and responsibilities explain the terms for reactive capability compensation pursuant to Schedule 2 of Section II of the ISO Tariff.

All resources that are part of the Schedule 2 Capacity Cost Compensation Program must telemeter their AVR mode to the ISO NE and its LCC by January 1 2009. Failure to meet this requirement will cause suspension of its Capacity Cost compensation.
